Argentine Oenology and Viticulture
Argentina has vibrant wine growing and producing regions. A decade or so ago in the USA we began seeing a lot of Malbecs. I figured we'd see wines and related industry during our visit but but I've been impressed with how much more there is and its influence and appreciation by the locals. Of course there's Malbecs, a LOT of them, but there are a lot of other varietals including some being grown in Arizona (Grenache, Torrontés, Tempranillo, etc.). It is not impressive that it exists here but it is impressive how prevalent, heralded, enjoyed, and available it is. Even in the remote and small town of Puerto Iguazú there were numerous large, dedicated wine shops. And every restaurant (even hole-in-the-wall ones) have a good list of wines.
